Aventine Miniatures have just released the first two packs of dismounted Sassanid Savaran.  Basically there are three poses, with a lot of different variations of helmets, aventails and the like.  The right hands are all empty, and you can use spears, maces (supplied) or swords (which I haven't got any of yet, but they will be supplied).  They're also supplied with shields, plus bow cases and quivers if you want to add them - depending whether you think they carried them or had them attached to the horse harness.  Keith says that Steve at Little Big Men Studios is working on some shield transfers.  He also says command figures should be available in a week or so.  I'm really pleased with the way they've turned out - now I just hope they sell for them!!

So I guess I'm back to working on Sassanids again, and thinking about siege rules!  Also coming up shortly on my workbench - from A&A Miniatures - some Praetorians and a few Palmyrene archers.
