More This and That...
My iPad found a new aspect to its usefulness this week. I was trying to write a bibliography for AVGVSTVS to AVRELIAN. It's a job which is usually a pain - find the book, bring it to the Mac, type in the details, take it back, find the next book, etc. But with the iPad I can take the 'puter to the books, so writing the bibliography became a tour of my bookshelves, iPad in hand. …

Sorry I've been quiet. I am hard at work on my rules or, rather, the 'army guides' to go with them. That has occupied most of my waking hours lately. I think I've more or less broken the back of the job, with just some 'tidying up' to do really. I started off not really enjoying it, and the first versions of the 'lists' (particularly the 'hairy barbarian' ones) were a little bland. …

Here are Warlord Games' new Roman Marines, with shield transfers from Little Big Men Studios. Lovely figures, and great transfers. There's not a great deal more to say actually! They would also make nice 'cloaked' auxilia - think of those poor chaps shivering with cold, stationed up on Hadrian's Wall. I painted them to look rather different from my other Early Imperial Romans... Think I succeeded, even if I did go a bit overboard (no, I'm not sorry about the pun) with the blue!
